Melville Clark took on the monumental task of organizing the twelfth symphony in the United States. The fi rst rehearsals were held on the third floor of the Clark store. The fledgling symphony held its board meetings in the Clark building, and its executive offices were maintained there for five years. 22 The Onondaga Council of Girl Scouts also kept its office in the store for many years.
